Guest Presenter: Ken Halkin, Owner of and Principal Consultant for Kenneth C. Halkin Management Consulting.

Ken earned his MBA degree at Cornell University and has nearly 30 years of combined executive management and business consulting experience both in the public and private sectors and both the for-profit and not-for private sectors.  He is accredited by the Institute for Independent Business, an international research, education and accreditation organization for advisors to small to medium size private businesses.  Drawing on his training and experience, Ken provides expert, objective business advice to both privately owned companies and non-profit organizations.

Over the past year, Ken has worked with a local landscape maintenance and construction company on developing a business plan to expand the existing business and to develop a new, separate fertilization and pest control company (LLC), as a 50:50 partnership with a second owner.  Prior to that Ken had done some pro-bono consultation with a Landscape Architect on expanding and diversifying her practice.

Event Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel an event (program, workshop, or tour) registration and receive a partial refund by notifying us (by email) up to the time of the event. With such cancellations, a cancellation fee of 15% (with a minimum of $5.00) plus paypal processing fees will be deducted. Cancellations received after this time, or after the event will not be refunded. We regret that no refunds or credits can be given for events that are in progress or that you have not attended.

If registration numbers are insufficient, The Underground reserves the right to cancel a program. In this case a full refund will be issued. The Underground also reserves the right to modify this general cancellation and refund policy for a specific event as needed; any modifications will be announced with the details of that event.

Weather Cancellations

Program cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced in advance of the event (typically by email). If you think that your program may be cancelled please call us at 508-872-3792 to confirm.

If paying by check, make checks payable to The Underground and mail it along with a printed copy of your online registration form to the address below.

Event Recording Notice

Notice Regarding Audio/Video Recording of Events

When you enter an Underground event (program, workshop or tour), you will be entering an area where photography, video and audio recording may occur.

By registering and attending the event, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on web sites, or any other purpose by The Underground and its affiliates and representatives. You release The Underground, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings.

By attending and entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by The Underground or the person or entity designated to do so by The Underground.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.
